I'm interested to hear from customers that have successfully JSM implemented assets as their CMDB solution.
I've heard first- and third-hand about companies that use assets for IT inventory management and other business uses (shoutout to Lucid Motors for their Team'25 presentation). Others have talked about solutions where JSM assets are connected to a CMDB housed in another system (e.g. SNOW). There are also plenty of Atlassian ecosystem vendors willing to sell services / solutions related to CMDBs.
Is anyone out there actively using Jira assets for their organization's CMDB? Do you have the CIs (asset objects) integrated into your incident, problem, and/or change management processes?
Did you try implementing Jira for your CMDB and get stuck or abandon the attempt somewhere along the way? Also interested to hear about that too.
