We’re excited to share some important updates to our pricing and packaging related to Assets objects that will help us continue delivering value and innovation to our customers.
Why We’re Making These Changes
To make scaling the use of Assets more affordable for everyone, we’re decreasing the cost per Asset object and increasing the Enterprise edition allowance to ensure our largest customers have the flexibility and capacity they need. Both changes are designed to deliver more value, support your growth, and reflect our ongoing commitment to customer success.
What’s Changing
- Overview: In September 2024, customers received communications about updates to Jira Service Management’s (JSM) pricing & packaging, including the introduction of consumption-based pricing (CBP) for Assets and Virtual Service Agent usage.
- October 16, 2024: When CBP became effective, Assets objects were priced at $0.05 per object per month, and only JSM Premium and Enterprise customers were eligible to purchase, with an automatic allowance of 50K objects.
- Effective October 7, 2025: Assets objects are now cheaper, priced at $0.02 per object per month, and paid JSM customers, on Premium (automatic allowance of 50K) and Enterprise (automatic allowance of 500K), are provided, able to use, and can purchase more Assets objects for less.
What This Means for Existing Customers
Recent Purchases at Previous Rates
We understand that some customers may have recently purchased additional Asset objects or upgraded their plans at the previous pricing. To ensure fairness:
- Credit Memos: If you purchased additional Asset objects prior to this change on October 7, 2025, you will automatically receive a credit memo for the price difference. This credit will be applied to your next invoice.
- Refunds: If you prefer a direct refund instead of a credit memo, please contact our support team, and we’ll be happy to assist.
Contractual Adjustments
If you’re on a long-term contract, your new Asset object allowance will be updated automatically. There’s no action required on your part, and you’ll see the changes reflected in your next billing cycle.
