Adding field to new JIRA issue view isn't working

A Yates April 14, 2019

Hello,

I would like to display the Resolution field on my new JIRA issue view, but I can't work out how to do that.

I have gone to the Issue Layout by selecting "..." and "Configure" when viewing the issue. The Resolution field is not available on the Issue Layout screen. So I went to Configure Screen to add the field, I added the field, but it is still not available on the Issue Layout screen.

Does anyone know how to add the Resolution Field to be available on the Issue Layout screen?

Thanks so much

Hi there,

You can try the 'where is my field' functionality to find out why the field may not be showing in the screen:

In my example above resolution is displayed for the Bug issue type and the 'where is my field report' says:

You should check the field configuration and the field screen to make sure that the field is enabled there. For the field screen you may have to do the following:

Go to Jira settings-> Issues-> Issue type screen-> select the scheme that is linked to your project (e.g., in my example the scheme is 'CCP: Kanban Issue Type Screen Scheme':

Click 'Configure', select the issue type (e.g. Bug), and verify the screen scheme used for the issue type (e.g. 'CCP: Kanban Bug Screen Scheme):

Click the screen scheme and check the screen for the issue operation that you need (view, edit or create, or default):

Add Resolution to the list of fields:

Hope it helps,
