HelIo all, i need for an onboarding process the hardware- and software catalog from assets, so the reporter can choose what the new employee needs.What is the solution to get the asset fields into the intent in the virtl. service agent.

It is very important. Please give me an solution for that. Thanks

Hi @Jochen Bruegel,

I’ve run into the same limitation, and unfortunately assets custom fields aren’t supported in Virtual Agent intents yet, I believe it is something they are working on but there is no ETA. After testing a few options, the best workaround I’ve found is to use automation to keep a Confluence page updated with the hardware and software catalog from Assets.

Here’s how I approached it:

  • I set up an automation rule that checks for changes in Assets and updates a Confluence page whenever there’s an update.
  • The Virtual Agent can then access that page during the conversation and use the data as a reference for the user.
  • Right now, I haven’t managed to format it as a table, it just lists the data in a CSV-style format on the page, but it still works well for providing the catalog dynamically.

If u manage to take it further, format the data in the page into table let me know!

@Christos Markoulatos  why don't you use the Assets macros in Confluence to always show the newest data of the asset catalog?

Hey, @Jochen Bruegel currently, the virtual agent only supports these fields:

  • Date

  • Paragraph

  • Short text

  • Single-select

See this article.

If the list is not very long you could try mapping the single-select with assets field via automation
