Hello folks,
I've only started using Jira Assets for a week, so apologies if I miss something. I'm trying to find a way to make reports on all or part of the assets I'm registering. Online prints and/or exports, I cannot find a way to do this. How do we build reports on our asset lists?
Welcome the community. Take a look at the following reference links on how to search for Assets objects via AQL and other reporting related topics -
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/export-objects/
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/use-assets-query-language-aql/
Hope this also helps.
Best, Joseph Chung Yin
Hi @João Rita ,
I would suggest checking out the following support documentation about native reports functionality in Assets: How to use reports for Assets.
Note that this is a relatively new functionality introduced at the beginning of this year.
Of course, you can always export objects and make some custom reporting on downloaded data.
Additionally, it's worth mentioning that you can showcase your objects in Confluence (if you're using Confluence): 🎁 Now available: Showcase your Assets objects in Confluence Cloud!
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Tom

Hello
Thank you for your reply. I have now found the "export" option, help helpfull. However I cannot find the Reports. The "How to use reports for Assets" link statest that I should see a "Reports" at the top of the page, but as you can see from the attached image, I have no such option. Any advice?
Regards
João

Hi @João Rita ,
Reports feature is available only to Jira administrators as per the following quote from the article:
You need to be a Jira admin in order to access this view-only report.
Can you confirm that you have Jira administrator permissions? To check this quickly, you can open Settings in the top navigation bar and see if you have these options available.
Cheers,
Tom

Yeah, you need to be Jira administrator to see Reports feature as stated above.
I would recommend checking out the following official guide when it comes to Users and Roles: Users and permissions
Also, here's official documentation about giving users admin permissions: Give users admin permissions
Additionally, try reaching out to your Jira administrator to consult with them. As I can see, you're User access admin (as you can access User management from the screenshot above) and with it, you should be able to give yourself product admin rights (but again, consult with admins within your organization before doing so).
Cheers,
Tom

I'm a site and Jira admin and I see the "Reports" option on the Assets screen but it shows me "One or more queries failed to run. Update the queries if needed then try again." after I click "Reports".
What queries? The "How to use reports for Assets" documentation has no mention of "queries".

All the documentation I've read is either too vague or inaccurate : (

Hi João, welcome to the Atlassian ecosystem! 👋
I’m Javier Coira, and among other things, I help develop Dashboard Hub — an app designed to enhance reporting and visualization in Jira.
You’re not alone — many users working with Jira Assets find that while it’s powerful for managing data, reporting capabilities can be a bit limited out of the box, especially when it comes to building shareable reports or visual dashboards.
If you’re looking for a more visual and flexible way to present your asset data, you might want to try out Dashboard Hub. It integrates directly with Jira Assets and allows you to:
✅ Build interactive dashboards using asset data (objects, attributes, statuses, etc.)
✅ Create custom reports filtered by object types or schema
✅ Export dashboards or individual charts to PDF/PNG
✅ Share dashboards with internal or external stakeholders securely
Here’s a live example dashboard so you can explore what’s possible:
And here’s the documentation to help you get started quickly:
👉 Getting Started with Dashboard Hub
Let me know if you’d like help setting up a dashboard — happy to help you build your first one using your assets! 🙌
