Assets Fields - User List

Have set up a field in our object schema for Assets through which you select a user account so that we know who said Asset has been assigned to. We have struck an issue where for our agents they are unable to select a user and doesn't show any results when type a username. I've added them as Object Schema managers, and they are still unable to select a user.

I have, what I assume to be a similar issue.

A team set up the Asset Management tool for Jira (not using JSM) I am the Administrator for an Object Scheme (and I am a Sys Admin) I am not able to assign the Asset Owner to some specific users.

I am assuming there is a way to chose which users are mapped to the Asset Owner, via Groups`?
