Assign issue to specific column

I have the following columns:  

Staff

patron

donor copy

preservation

How do I find the automation to get a ticket or issue to go to the patron column and not the first column on the board? 

Having a hard time finding the automation selection for my boards

The columns on the board gather together issues in a particular status (or set of status), so to get an issue put into a coliumn, you need to transition it to one of the status in the target column.

Ok, How would I do this automatically? If I have a staff column and patron column and I create a ticket for the patron column do I need to write a code for it to show up in the patron column?

You'll need to find something that can transition the issues through your workflow until it reaches the right column.

I think I need to question why you're doing this though - your columns are supposed to help you represent your process, but you've given them names that do not sound like they are a process.    Is this really a process?  If it's not, then I think you might have the wrong tool...
