Automation with due date

I wanted to put {{now.plusDays(2)}} in the Due date field so that when new issue is created, the due date is automatically updated.
However, I get this warning:

Hello @Miyoung Mary Kim

Thank you for reaching out.

By the screenshot you provided, I believe you are using the default Service desk automation, however, the smart value you are trying to add {{now.plusBusinessDays()}} is a feature of Jira automation, so it will not work there.

You can check below the main differences between both automation features:

Automation for Jira vs Service Desk automation

That being said, please follow the steps below to properly configure the smart value as you need:

  1. Navigate to your project > Project settings > Click on Project Automation (Not automation)
  2. Create the rule as displayed in the screenshot below, selecting the trigger and conditions you need and adding the correct number of days between brackets in the smart value:

Hi @Petter Gonçalves Thanks for your help. I'm trying to follow your steps but I'm stuck with finding Project Automation. I only see Automation in the Service Desk Setting.

After I clicked the Automation in the screenshot, it is the same place that I can't add the smart value.

Please help me to find the Project Automation. Thanks.

Hello @Miyoung Mary Kim

I believe you are using a Next-gen project. Is that correct?

If that's the case, I believe the project Automation must be displayed under the Apps menu:

Can you confirm that?

Hi @Miyoung Mary Kim,

what kind of jira project is it, classic or next-gen?
And is it possible to make a screen print of the entire rule?
In my Jira Cloud environment it looks different with automation.

Regards, Marco

Hi @Marco Brundel This is Jira Service Desk and used the next-gen template. I think I will try Peter's directions for this problem. Thanks.
