Bulk clear an attribute

Is it possible to bulk clear an attribute?

If I have an optional attribute and I have a bunch of objects that have values in that attribute, how can I clear/null out that attribute without having to do it to each one?

When I go to the bulk edit screen, it allows me to remove a particular value, but it doesn't look like it allows me to clear the attribute completely.

Hi @David Sumlin,

Start by filtering out the objects that have an attribute that you want to clear. After making that selection, select the cog icon > edit objects.

From the list of options, for the attribute you want to clear select change and don't fill out any value. In this example, I selected an attribute called Test. When you proceed, you should see a confirmation message like this:

Click save to perform the update.

Just make sure you check if your selection does only contain the objects you want to clear. This is a pretty destructive update, so run it at your own risk!

Hope this helps!

Can't believe I didn't realize this. Thanks...simple as it should be.

@David Sumlin -

Are you referring to Insight object attributes or JSM issue fields?

Please advise.

Hi David,

You can go to "edit objects", select change and leave it blank. That should do it.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,

Melo
