Hi,
we have about 1600 external reporters in our Jira ServiceDesk system, and sometimes we would like to send an email to most of them, but not all of them.
Is there, besides exporting their email addresses and filtering manually, a solution that provides us an option to send email to them based on certain values in the CMDB. Reporters that are linked to a specific server in the CMDB or a tag in tickets that specific users have created.
For example, send an email to all users that are part of an organization that is linked to server X.
Greetings,
Erik Meegdes
If you are open to using 3rd-party applications, our app Notification Assistant for Jira can help you with this scenario.
It allows you to send ad-hoc emails from a Jira issue using the feature "Send Email from issue":
As you can see in our documentation (linked above), we offer a wide range of possible recipients that you can choose from to send the messages to.
Our app also provides you with fully customizable notification schemes, templates, and a comprehensive audit log.
Feel free to reach out if you are interested.
The only option I can provide you is to look at marketplace apps that offer extended email operations.

Ootb there are no options to achieve this, except your own provided solution.
