Hello,
I see that this question has been previously brought to the Atlassian community with no reply to the customer - hoping we can get this functionality added!
I am looking for a way to trigger an automated alert that will feed into Slack when a user 'votes' on an issue. The use case we have for this is our public roadmap that we share with our customers within the organization to help vote on features and functionality they would like to see in our next release. This helps us to prioritize our roadmap and ensure that we are delivering on high value items to our customers.
We currently have automation in place to send an alert when a user 'comments' on an issue, but we have no visibility into when a user 'votes' on an issue. This automation will help our Product Owner's tremendously to remain in constant communication with our customers.
Are there plans to add this into the project automation suite within Jira?
Hi Brandon, welcome to the Community!
You're right that it's not currently possible to action via Automation when someone casts a vote in Jira. I like that you tried using the Field value changed trigger - unfortunately votes are a special type of field in Jira that don't always act like a regular custom field. To that end, I've created a new Suggestion with your request in our public Jira instance: JRACLOUD-74498
For more information about how Atlassian prioritizes feature requests made on jira.atlassian.com, check out this Community post.
Cheers,
Daniel
