We have created a mailbox in Office 365 and we would like to set this up as the email account for Jira Service Desk. However, we only want Jira Service Desk to handle a subset of emails.
If we set up inbound processing rules in the Office 365 mailbox to move emails into subfolders, will this ensure that they are not sent to Jira Service Desk? Or is there a chance that they may be still picked up by Jira Service Desk?
Hi Ivan, I think you would run into a potential race condition. I could imagine that JSD might hit the inbox before your rules execute some of the time. What about setting up two mailboxes.
email1 - give to your customers and set up a rule to move any Jira issues to your second email (email2)
email2 is assigned to JSD
Thanks Jack, that was my concern too. Separate mailboxes would definitely be a solution, but IT are trying to reduce their subscription costs.
