@Sreenadh -

For Automation for Jira, please refer the following links for your references -

https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-cloud-automation/

https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/automation-template-library#/rule-list?systemLabelId=all&page=1&pageSize=20&sortKey=name&sortOrder=ASC

https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-issues/

Essentially you will create an automation rule that is triggered with an standard issue type issue moves into the IN PROGRESS status (Triggering event), then establish a condition and action to close out all of its associated subtasks.  NOTE - You will need to ensure that the WF used for your sub-tasks issue types has transition established to move to CLOSED transition.

Hope this helps.  You can review the above links to learn more about the process + look at the template library for possible rule that you can copied and build your own automation rules.

You can do this with automation instead.

I think you even have this scenario as a standard scenario...

Go to project settings -> automation and from there you can create the automation you want.
