Hi,

Can some will help me out in JSM i want to modify Reporter field name to "Created by"

Reporter behavior is if we are creating any request then who is going to raise a request his/her name should be auto fill with it.

But i want to modify the Label name from "Reporter to Created by" and behavior should be same.

Is there any possibility can modify the Out of box field label name or can we create a new field and need to perform the same behavior which is there for Reporter

Hello @Sreenadh 

Modifying the default (out of the box) field name would not be possible. You can create a custom field by the name 'Created By' of the 'User Picker (single user)' type; use an automation rule to copy the value from the Reporter field name to 'Created by'.

To ensure similar behaviour, please update the notification scheme and include the newly created custom field 'Created By' as well a al places where the Reporter is being notified.

could you please provide with screenshot where can i create the same. actually i am new to this Jira.

Um, actually, no you don't.

Jira already records the creator separately from the reporter.

The logic is that the creator is the person doing the typing, but they might be doing it while on the 'phone to the reporter, or because they got an email from the reporter, or slack message, or, or, or. 

In short, you don't need to do any of this, just use the creator and reporter field as intended.
