Change Key for assets?

We have existing assets, for instance "ABC-1123".  We are testing out Insight for asset management. I set "ABC" as the key for Insight, but of course, when I create a new asset it is "ABC-1".  How can I edit this so that I can add existing inventory to Insight management?

Hi @Scott Beeson - Unfortunately, you cannot change the key once an object schema has been established.  I would recommend creating an attribute for mapping your legacy ID to the new object key and transitioning your reporting to start leveraging new key. I know that's not exactly painless, but the only way you'd be able to maintain your existing structure would be quite painful:

1. Delete the object schema and create again 
2. Recreate your old inventory one object at a time matching the order of your old ID (perhaps you could script something to do this)

Thanks, but I've already cancelled my Premium trial and will be using another product. This makes me feel even better about my decision.
