Configure Operations Schedule to Handle Days Collectively

Jon Hayward-Crichton January 12, 2025

Operations is quite powerful, but I'm missing something really basic.

You can configure five days a week, which is great. However we want our schedule to be a little more custom apparently.

1. Each person works two business days and just rotate through.

  • For example, Person 1 is Mon / Tues, Person 2 is Wed / Thurs, Person 3 is Friday / Monday, Person 4 is Tues / Wed and so on.

2. For us to be able to go "Monday was a override due to public holiday, start fresh schedule from Tuesday"

Or just to be able to go and manually set 'Person 1 is mon / tuesday' and not do rotation.

Any ideas?

Hello @Jon Hayward-Crichton

Customizing the operations schedule to rotate team members or handle public holiday overrides requires advanced configuration.

In Jira Service Management, you can use the "On-call Schedule" feature within Opsgenie to create custom rotations.

I recommend to set rules for individual working days and exceptions for public holidays to meet your specific needs.
