I would like to be able to create an issue in a Jira Service Management ticket and assign to our development team. The development team manage the work in a Jira Project. I would like to be able to link the JSM issue to the issue in the development team's project so I can keep track of progress. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This can be done using an automation rule, I'll screenshot a similar rule I've created for you to reference.
