Hi!
We try to create a very simple integration for Microsoft Teams. The only thing the app does, is showing the ticket-portal as an embedded website. The app is running inside MS Teams on the left side bar and is created with "Teams App Studio". (It is like playing with Lego to create apps there :D )
The app works with a random taken URL like google.de but not with the URL of the jira ticket portal like https://xxxxxxxxxx.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1
Any ideas why it is not possible to show the ticket portal? I found s.th. about 'X-Frame-Options' which seems to be responsible for blocking iframe-embedded Jira pages. We are using the cloud-version of Jira and so cannot manipulate the sourcecode.
I rifled the whole web for finding a solution :D But no way.. Hope you guys have an approach. :)
Cheers,
Franz
Hi @Franz Korbjuhn ,
welcome to the Atlassian Community! You're correct, the X-Frame-Options are set by Atlassian and they prevent you from embedding the JSM customer portal directly. This is quite important due to security reasons and it won't be possible to do so in the near future.
As a side note: For Jira Server & Data Center it is different; in that case you can find a workaround to embed the customer portal directly.
At yasoon we have built an integration that works with the existing REST API to make the JSM customer portal available in Microsoft Teams. That might be a solution for you. You can find the integration "Microsoft Teams for Jira" here. The JSM portal feature is also part of "Microsoft 365 for Jira", in case you need an even deeper integration of your Office tools (Microsoft Outlook, Teams, To Do) to Jira and vice versa.
Have a great day,
Britta
Hi Britta,
thanks for your reply. Too bad that there is no option to just activate/deactivate the embed-feature in Jira.
Best regards
Franz

Franz I user your original question to add to Britta:
is the yasoon plugin compatible with the Microsoft Viva Connections integration for Teams on mobile?
In illimity Bank we would like to leverage the app "Support" enabled by yasoon on our Teams Mobile through our Viva Connections dashboard
Is it possible in your opinion?
Thanks in advance,
Francesco

Hi there @Francesco Zitelli
thank you for this creative question, what a great idea.
You could add a button with a deeplink to the app "Support" on your Viva Connections Dashboard. By clicking on this link the user would jump directly to the support app inside teams.
The link would look like this (it's an example link):
https://teams.microsoft.com/l/entity/883211c1-f5aa-4d0f-8e95-d749e1e57d3d/createNewRequest
If you want to, just contact our support here and we can create an individual link for your app to add as a button to Viva Connections Dashboard.
Hope that helps.
Best,
Britta

Thanks Britta, I tried to construct my deep link collecting the app entity id we createad,
but still it is not working on our Teams mobile - Viva Connections Dashboard.
I opened ticket SUPPORT-5212
Have a nice day!

Hi @Britta Neugebauer _yasoon_ , I've ran into your app for integrating JSM portal into Teams, and it looks really good. Still, it is kind of disappointing that there is no a working solution if the JSM is running internally, behind firewall...
We are running JSM on a server instance as support channel for our internal users. It is not accessible from outside. Can you somehow suggest how to implement such solution in order to bring JSM customer portal into teams?
thx & br,
Georgi

Hello @Britta Neugebauer _yasoon_
Can you direct me to right direction how this "As a side note: For Jira Server & Data Center it is different; in that case you can find a workaround to embed the customer portal directly." can be done?
Maybe some webpage or forum post or smth like this.
As we have JIRA Datacenter edition, then would like to have the exact same thing which @Franz Korbjuhn brought out. Teams custom app direct access to JSM, without leaving Teams application.

Hello @Britta Neugebauer _yasoon_
I thought if there's possibility to do it without purchasing your product as the need is just to show the Jira Service Desk customer portal?

Hi @Mart Lehtmets , unfortunately, I don't have an "easy hack" or documentation on how to do it yourself. My side note was just referring to a different set up process for Data Center using our app.
Having the JSM login in a Microsoft Teams custom app without leaving the Teams application is not trivial. That is one of the reasons why we added this feature to our app. Sorry!
Best,
Britta
