Hello, I want to create an Insight Access Token for the app Better PDF Exporter, so that it can access Insight object information.
We have Insight as a feature of our Jira Service Management Cloud. All the information I can find regarding that topic seems to relate to an old version of Insight, where it still was an seperate app.
Does someone have information (link, explanation, etc.) on how to create this access token?
Cheers
Alex
Update 2021-10-22:
I contacted the Midori customer support and this was their response : ".... The "new" Insight is embedded into the Jira Service Management Cloud and it has a different API and settings. We are currently working on this integration and we are really close to the release."
So I suspect creating a token via https://id.atlassian.com/manage/api-tokens and using it for the BetterPdfExporter will be possible in the future.
I'm Levente from Midori, makers of Better PDF Exporter for Jira Cloud.
Can you please share more information about what exactly are you trying to do and where did you get stuck exactly?
Our technical support team has a few suggestions on how to approach this, so please reach out to us in a support ticket. We will make sure we do everything we can to help with your use case!
I contacted the Midori support team and will update my post, should I be able to solve this problem.

Did you make any progress with this? I cannot find anywhere to generate a token for Jira Insight. This document seems to be irrelevant in for Jira cloud.

If you have the same use case as @Alexander Schäfer (exporting PDF documents including Insight data) then I can inform you that yes, this has been resolved and Better PDF Exporter Cloud now supports Insight in Jira Service Management.

Hi @Alexander Schäfer and welcome!
Are you sure that now that Insight is part of Jira, that tokens aren't created from here -> https://id.atlassian.com/manage/api-tokens ?

@Alex Koxaras _Relational_ I am having a similar problem simply trying to set up the Discovery tool to import discovered date into the cloud and I used an API token from that URL and it responds with TokenNotValid.

For anybody that finds this thread, the way you generate an Insight Access Token is described here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/export-data-from-insight-discovery-to-insight-cloud/

Thanks for your reply. I already tried to use a token created in this menu, but it seems that they do not work in this case. In the meantime I contacted the Midori support team and will update my post, should I be able to solve this problem.
