I'm trying to set up a service with a Service Management project. I want to tie the service to the project so I can set stakeholders.

Currently, this documentation on how to create a service in JSM is for the old navigation, and hasn't been updated yet https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/create-a-service/

Has anyone figured out how to create a new service in the new navigation?

Thanks!

Hi @jpowell

Welcome to the community.

Go to you project settings and enable the feature services and incident management.

Then on the project use the menu option "Operations"

Hi Marc,

I'm afraid I don't see much in operations, just a page that takes me to a list of things I can enable in incident management, which all hold links to out of date documentation. Do I need to be an organisation admin for this? We've been having serious trouble with our admin permissions since they started centralising everything.

Hi @jpowell

Go to the project settings of the JSM project, find the Features option and enable the Features "Services" and "Incident Management".

Then return to the project, you should now have an Operations option in the project sleect this, here you can define services now.

Ahh I've got it, it was available under the project dropdown list on the overview page of all of my jira projects, rather than in the project settings itself, but we're all set now. Thanks!

Hi @jpowell,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

In the new UI you create new services objects from within Assets. So go to Assets and select the Services object schema and then Create object.

Hi Mikael,

I'm afraid I don't see where the assets section is. Do I need to be an organisation admin for this? We've been having serious trouble with our admin permissions since they started centralising everything.

Sorry, just saw that you are on Standard tier. In that case you have to turn on Operations under Project settings > Features, once that is enabled you should see Operations as an option on the left-hand side and from there you can create services.
