Hi,

So I've got Affected Services set up which is the default field in JSM for tagging a change to an impact service in the Services Object Schema.

We've got several services tagged as tier one or tier two and linked together with dependencies.

I'd created two new insight custom fields -

Impacted APIs & Services

  • Filters to return just tier 2 services

Impacted Websites and Applications

  • Filters to return just tier 1 services

The idea being it'd make life easier for seeing the scope of a change or incident as when requesting a change they'd select the tier 1 and then if they know the APIs etc being impacted then that as well but as a minimum the Website or Application.

Annoyingly having set this up when I add values to the two custom fields this doesn't actually stick a value in Affected Services.

My hope was that this would automatically update as we added stuff to the other two fields but unfortunately not, I've looked at Automation as a savior but when updating that field it wipes any previous value instead of just adding the additional.

My question is, is my only option doing this via the API with Automation?

Thanks!
