Does adding a new custom field to a project issue reflect in completed items?

If I create a new custom field and add it to an issue type in a JSM project, it is reflecting only on open items. Is there a way to make it visible across completed (Done) items as well?

@Usama attaullah -

I agreed with @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- statement.  For all existing issues, if you want to see the newly added custom field, then you will need to conduct a bulk update to those issues.  NOTE - By default, a field is not visible until it is populated.

Adding a field just means that it is available to all the issues.

It does not mean some arbitrary value is jammed into it on existing items.
