Email configuration issue

I keep seeing this configuration error which is blocking me from using other channel-features like the 'widget' not until this gets resolved.

However, based on the problem shown in the screenshot; email request type requires a summary and description and they should not be restricted BUT the currently created email-request-type by JIRA won't allow me to turn off 'required' option on the 'Summary' field and there is no option to add a 'Description' field.Screenshot 2024-11-21 at 18.03.45.png

Hi @Anita Naluzze , Welcome to the Community!

Setting up email IS a bit confusing in Jira/JSM! So first, the Summary field is always required, we can't change that regardless of our permissions (Jira/JSM requirement). Second, if Description isn't already on the screen under Summary then it should be on the right-side panel of your Request form that you can drag leftward to underneath the Summary field.

Third, you'll need to assign the desired workflow and Issue Type to the Emailed Request request type so you don't get that error:

Project settings > Request types > Service requests > More (...) for the Emailed Request request type (usually in "Hidden from portal") > Replace with existing (workflow) > choose the applicable workflow (if needed), then change the Issue Type to the one you want. Depending on your setup, you may have slightly different options. Hope that helps!
