When exporting records to Excel, some fields appear as null. What could be causing this, and how can I resolve it?
Record I want to export.
I chose this export option because it provides a better output compared to the other available export methods:
the excel result came out this:
Can you show the output when the values in that field are exported to CSV? I think that having a look at the "raw" format may help us identify the root cause.
Also, you may want to try to export it with Better Excel Exporter. This is an app developed by us and it supports all built-in custom field types, including single-line text fields. In other words, if your field is a standard type one, it should be exported as expected.
Hi @Mar Angelo L_ Tareno , thanks for your post and for providing the screenshots.
Please can I ask, what type of field is the Unit Number? It looks like it is a multi-select drop-down from the repeating column (soyou could select more than one unit number)?
Are there any rows where this data is filled in?
Have you tried exporting with the 'export' button, instead of using the Microsoft App? Perhaps the app is having some trouble accessing the data in the custom field for some reason.
Best wishes

the Unit Number is short plain text,
When I try a different export option (CSV), the missing records appear, but the format is too complicated and differs from the table view in Jira.

Hello @Mar Angelo L_ Tareno , thanks for your reply.
I am looking to see if anyone else has reported this same issue.
I can find this in JAC - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-77924
I don't know that your column has special characters in it, but might be worth a try to apply this fix and see if it helps.
When you say the csv export 'differs from the table view', do you mean that all of the columns are exported, as opposed to a smaller selection? It should be possible for you to replicate the column headings and order for your export, if you click on this columns button, that I have circle in red, to add whichever columns you want and to remove anything that isn't of interest to you. Then, when you do the export, you can choose 'my defaults' so you don't get every column ever, just the ones you have selected.
I hope this helps you.
Cheers
