I use power automate to send in certain emails that arrive in email inboxes. Since I'm using power automate it sets the reporter as me instead of the person that actually sent in the email. I then use Jira automation to pull the user that originally sent in the email and set them as the reporter. The issue I'm having is even though the person that sent the email is a customer and is marked as active, Jira automation logs say that the user was inactive and therefore can't be assigned as the reporter. Has anyone experienced anything like this with having trouble assigning some customers as reporters?
Hi @Marcus Jones ,
May want to try with a User that has login. I'm wondering it has to do with the fact that this user has not actively login. Possibly worth a check.

I am trying to set the reporter to customers as well when the atlassian assistant bot replies on their behalf for various reasons. I am not looking to have them as someone with a login, they are part of the thread yet being identified as anonymous with barely any identifying information despite normally working. I need to be able to set the reporter to a user that is engaging with a thread inactive or not. Is there an actual solution for updating the reporter

HI @Justin - HLPT ,
It's possible to update the reporter by making sure the reporter field is part of your edit screens.
