How can subtask owners see all their tickets and their subtask status in one place?

Culinary Change Management June 14, 2023

Hi

I have 2 service projects with many parent issues. There are 12 static subtask owners that are given subtasks on every ticket. They have a hard time finding and prioritizing their work given the volume of parent issues created. How can I develop a place for them to see the following using a dashboard or a filter:

  • The Project
  • The parent ID
  • The parent ticket title
  • Their subtask title
  • The status of their subtask
  • The tentative launch date

Does this require a plug in? If yes, which one?

Thank you!

Alexis

Hi @Culinary Change Management

if you are open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this should be easy to do using the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of so-called "smart columns" that aren’t natively available, including e.g. the parent issue key or the parent summary. With these, you can build a view like the following in just a couple of clicks:

As you can see above, you can work on your issues directly in JXL, but also trigger various operations in Jira, or export your data with just one click. Also note that JXL can do much more than that: From support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, to issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.

Any questions just let me know,

Best,

Hannes
