How do I create a subtask for a JSM team project

I see that we have subtasks for our JSM company templates but we need subtasks to serve as checklists in our our Team project types for JSM. How do we do this? I could not find anything on the community.

The exact process for adding some tasks to your project depends on whether you’re using company managed projects or teen managed projects.

There are no issue types for next gen/team projects in jira service management so there's no where that I can see where you can add a subtask. This does work in Jira Software team projects, but NOT in jira service management team projects that I can find.

That is indeed the case for TMP JSM.
