How do you limit the drop down lists on the customer requests form in JSM

I would like to limit the number elements shown on the screen drop down lists shared. One is the status & the other is request type. The first contains different status types that we don't use & the other shows all the requests types in the JSM system. Is there a way to limit the drop downs to show only the ones that we want them to see ?

I have seen this out of the box. There's app that help with this but have only seen it in server like extension for JSM.
