Product: Jira Service Management (JSM) Cloud
Q: How can we get data source/schemas/data model from JIRA Assets Schemas? Does JIRA exposes a data connector to be consumed with Power BI as Data source?
Hello Satish @Satish Putnala ,
You can use REST API supplied by Atlassian as Evgeniy @Evgenii mentioned.
If you are looking for a ready-to-use and user-friendly solution, please try the Power BI Connector for Jira app. 30-day trial is available.
Power BI Connector for Jira allows you to configure data sources and export Asset data to Power BI for further analytics.
Please find the details in the documentation: https://aserve.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PBCFJC/pages/2346319873/Insight+-+Asset+Management
If you have any questions related to the Connector or would like to request a demo, please contact the Power BI Connector support team: https://aserve.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/16

Luba

I don't see schema objects/data tables specific to Jira Asset data when using Power BI Connector for JIRA, please give me more information as my intention is to fetch data in Power BI for reporting purposes.
Thanks,
Satish

Hi Luba,
Thanks for reply, but unfortunately it does not be helpful. As I already have Token generated and in use.
Q1: To be able to get Assets when i try to Create a Data Source rom Power BI connector, what kind of access privileges we need from JIRA side?
Q2: Our end goal is to get Assets tables by creating a data source with service account from JIRA and then use our user account from Power BI desktop, does this method works? IF "Yes" can you please copy the documentation link of the steps involved?
Thanks
Satish Putnala

Hello - Was curious if this question found a resolution in that Assets was obtained via the Power BI Connector or by REST API?
Going through a similar situation and would appreciate learning the outcome. Using a ready made Power BI Connector would be nice, but the costs involved and the internal legal review process makes it practically a non-starter.
