How to act on the triggered issue when the branch found similar issues

Hi all, 

We are trying to simulate the consolidation logic for new similar issues -- when a new issue is created that is similar to an existing issue, do something on the new issue. Atlassian has this branch feature that can find similar existing issue, and allow us to take action on the existing issues. How can we do it in the trigger issue?
