How to change new assignee after original one has been deleted from jira?

A person left the company therefore we removed him from JIRA, but we know his projects, issues, and other things that he did are still on JIRA. Now the new agent that took over cannot create issues because he is not the assignee. How do we change the assignee to be this new agent? Please give detailed steps. Thanks.

Hi @Fahad Akhtar ,

An option would be to do a bulk update of all open issues from the previous agent, to the new.

project = <project> AND assignee = <user> and resolution = Unresolved

 Then you would run a bulk update.

Editing multiple issues at the same time
