How do I change the renderer for a custom field? I have a paragraph field in Jira Service Management that is only doing simple text, but I chose that type to allow for rich text, images and URLs. I did this once before but can't remember where that config change area is.

Hi @Nate Dickinson

You can change renderer in field configuration. Open Project Settings -> Fields -> Edit icon (you will edit the configuration of all projects using this field configuration).

I hope it helps,

@Nate Dickinson -

Hi Nate:

You can access your project's Project settings >> Issues >> Fields to access the Field configuration scheme.  In the scheme UI, click on the pencil icon, then locate your custom "Paragraph" field and click on the "Render" option.

Please note that to make sure that your Fields configuration scheme is not shared with multiple projects, if you only want the rendering to impact only one project and not all other projects.  If so, you will need to create a copy of the existing Fields configuration scheme and associate it to your specific project, and then make the rendering change for the field.  This way the change will only impact just against the specific project only.

Hope this helps.

Thank you both, I couldn't remember where this was hidden. I'll probably reference this post again in the future when a field renderer has to be changed.

Have a good day,

-Nate
