How to embed jira service management tickets and requests into website and automatically loggin user

Danny Mecca December 4, 2024

We are creating a portal where users can access information on our platform. We use JSM for ticketing. I would like a way for a user to login to the portal through our own authentication and allow them to navigate to a tickets page that displays all the JSM tickets relevant to the logged in users email address. Can you provide instructions on how to embed in a way that the user doesn't need to re-login to view the JSM tickets? I would also like to do the same thing with a ticket submission page, where the user is already authenticated and submitting a ticket submits on behalf of the organization.

The one caveat to the above in our use case is users can only access submitted tickets within their organization. We do not want users outside of the organizations to create tickets.

@Danny Mecca I would suggest just setup the Atlassian customer portal with SSO then everything you are looking for exists.   If you want to do it on your own and recreate everything then you would need to use the Atlassian APIs and determine the best way to authenticate based on your security practices.  https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/service-desk/rest/intro/#jira-cloud-platform-apis
