How to manage configuration changes?

Hi there, 

We have prod instance on JSM standard plan. Few items are created and are avaialble over the Service Portal. The way as it works now addresses business demand and company decided to put 100+ more items to the portal. 

I guess doing changes and testing in prod is not the best idea, so I was checking on the way how can I do configuration and testing in subprod (sandbox? or separet instance) and once it`s successfil move the configuration to the prod. 

Is it possible? Any ideas/guidelines? 

Did google and check community, but did not find anything apart of the sandbox where I can put prod configuration, not vice versa.

It's not yet possible to copy SandBox settings to Production.

It would be a cool feature however. You can vote for it here https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-11150
