This means that the server you were trying to connect to responded, but stopped talking to you. The analogy is a phone call - you ring someone, they answer, you say "hello" and they hang up.
Either your network is not allowing the connection or you've got a setting wrong and the email server doesn't like it. You'll need to do one or more of:
- Fix the network, such that it carries the traffic correctly
- Ask the email server owners what the connection parameters should be
- Ask the email server what the problem with the connection is - why did it hang up?
