Import predefined options for custom fields

Hi together,

I have a rather large list of options that I want to be displayed as a drop-down list in a custom field.

This all works great, but I'm wondering how to import a list of 60 values.

I would not do this manually - does anyone have a solution for a automatic.

Best regards Thomas

Hi @Dreymann_ Thomas ,

I'd like to suggest an alternative: consider using the 'External Data for Jira Fields' add-on, specifically the 'Field Options Sync' use case. This allows you to use a simple CSV or JSON file as a data source for an import-like setup. Additionally, if your drop-down list changes in the future, you can easily update the file.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Thomas

@Dreymann_ Thomas -

In our envs, we utilize the third party add-on Scriptrunner for Jira, it is a must have add-on that provides many valuable enhanced feature for any Jira/JSM envs in my opinion.  One of the features is the bulk import custom field options script.  I am certain that many users will agreed with my opinion too.

I highly recommended that you take a look at the add-on and try it out - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/6820/scriptrunner-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

Hope this helps.
