Is it possible to close an issue without sending an email to the Reporter?

We have several older tickets that we would like to close in bulk without notifying the reporter. Is this possible?

Hi @Vicki Stanfield ,

welcome to the community!

Typically, you would do something like this in bulk (bulk edit option in the issue search window).

In the last step of the bulk update wizard, you can uncheck "send email for this update", making sure no emails are sent, even if the notification scheme would send them normally.

A lifesaver for admins and powerusers!

Good luck,

@Vicki Stanfield -

In addition to what @Tessa Tuteleers stated, you need to make sure that your issue's WF has the necessary status transition setup to go to the "CLOSED" status first from your current issue's WF status.  If you don't, then you will not be able to move it to "CLOSED".

If the above situation is true, then you will need update your issue's WF first by creating the necessary transition between the current issue's status to "CLOSED" and publish the change.  Afterward you can follow Tessa's suggestion.
