Hi!
How not to send an email when updating a request if the request is in the closed status.
For example. Request is status Closed. Someone updated field. I want not to send e-mail about it. How to?
Is it possible to forbid sending emails about updating a request if the update was made by a specific user? For example System.
if using Automation or an app then yes.
With the default (customer) notifications you cannot specify it.

@Dirk Ronsmans This does not work. In JIRA Automation, I select Publish specific event, but the notifications only come about Update.

Are you using the legacy automation or the Automation 4 Jira app (which is now included in DC too)
If so, you should have a "Issue updated" trigger and from there you can do a Condition before sending the email.
Feel free to share some details from yoru Automation, that might help

@Dirk Ronsmans JIRA 8.21, JIRA Automation Lite 8.0.5
Udated (personal) without people. But anyway, spawn Update (system) again and again. I have checked.

As the Action on the automation rule do you not have a "Send Email" action?
If you use the event then you will probably just trigger the same notification scheme

Then I'm afraid you'll have to invest in something. Since you want to do something that is not available out of the box you'll have to look to adding the functionality somehow.
Are you planning to switch to Datacenter any time in the future? Because the app is included there.

Hey @Tony Montana ,
Unfortunately there isn't much control on the trigger when to send an email in Jira.
The trigger would be "issue updated" and that doesn't look at any other property of the issue.
You could replace the default notification of issue updated with an Automation rule (with action "send email") and exclude the Closed issues from that.
Or if you wish to have more control over email in general invest in an app that handles your emails (like Email this issue) which can define a lot more granular triggers (and better email templates)
