Is it possible to share dashboards via customer portal

I have a client in the UK who wants to be able to display dashboards to their clients but they don't want the data to leave the UK, is there an app or plugin for that. I have been looking high and low for one but there doesn't seem to be - this is my last hope just in case I missed it.

You would need an app from the Marketplace in order to do this, out of the box Jira Dashboards cannot be shared via the Portal.

Currently JSM does not offer something like this in default. 
But it is possible to use a 3rd party App from the marketplace. An example would be Charts and Reports for Jira Service Management

If you are open to trying a marketplace solution, I recommend Mindpro Graphy (I am a product leader at Mindpro). The app allows you to create easy-to-use dashboards, and you have 50+ available gadgets to choose from, including custom and asset gadgets. The gadgets are interactive, which means you can filter the entire dashboard when you click on a chart segment. 

You can share dashboards internally or with the customers you want (since they also access Jira):

When the customers access the portal, they will see an option to select the dashboards: 

The system will allow the customers to select among the dashboards they have permission to view (the app also respects Jira project permissions):

The app is built using Forge and has the "Runs on Atlassian" badge, which means it can store data in any of the Data Residency regions Atlassian provides.

Additionally, you can also create password-protected public links to share dashboards with stakeholders without a Jira license (please note I didn't enable a password for that dashboard I just shared).

Welcome to the community.  I agreed with two other community champions' suggestions.  Atlassian Marketplace is the best way to find the app.

Please note that you stated that your current subscription to JSM as the "Free" tier, so you need to know that you can typically get a 30 days free trial of Add-ons in your env from the Atlassian Marketplace vendors.

Based on my experience, there are only very limited add-ons which are also free.  Last thing, what do you mean by keeping the data in UK?

I have looked at apps from the marketplace and a lot of them have data residency outside of the UK and with the nature of this client, a lot of these apps can't be used
