I'm using Jira Service Management Cloud and trying to configure an automation rule that sets the Priority field based on a custom field called Issue class.
However, although the rule completes successfully, I receive the following warning in the audit log:
Edited work item successfully, however some of the set fields aren't available. Fields ignored: Priority (priority)
To clarify:
The Priority field is visible on the issue when I open it manually.
The automation rule uses the “Edit issue” → Priority action.
I’ve verified that the field is not hidden in the Field Configuration.
I also checked the Edit screen configuration and still cannot find the root cause.
Request:
Can you please help me understand:
Why Jira Automation is unable to set the Priority field?
What configuration needs to be adjusted to allow the rule to work properly?
Thank you!
Welcome to the community. Based on the audit message that you provided, it typically means that the rule actor (who triggered the rule) doesn't have the the Edit Issue permission.
You may need to
1) Provide the required license, agent roles, edit permission to the Actor of the rule.
or
2) Change the actor defined of the rule to a user who has these permissions.
Hope this helps.
Best, Joseph Chung Yin
