Jira Automation to search Existing records randomly on creation of ticket or before creation

Hi Team,

Have a requirement on URL field, We have a URL field when user creates a ticket and the entered URL Exists on previously created tickets, Automation should add comment with Key of existing URL and should close automation, If not present no action required. Can any one please suggest how can  i full fill the requirement with jira Automation. Thanks

Have you attempted using the Related issues condition? I have not attempted as yet but I believe. It should be possible. Your JQL would need to use smart value to search the URL field of previously created issues based on the URL in the current issue.

Hi @Jack Brickey  Thanks for the reply, I'm poor in finding smart values and we checked with Script runner team for support on this and they said Atlassian cloud has restrictions" This happens because of the Jira Cloud limitation that it has and it`s architecture doesn`t allow us to create something like this." , so started looking to approach with Jira Automation . Can you please help. Thanks
