Jira Cloud - Remove Project from Service Desk

Fudge August 26, 2019

Hello,

I'm having trouble removing Projects from a Service Desk.

I've deleted one Project and still see it appearing in my Service Desk Portal despite not being accessible in Jira anymore.

For a 2nd Project I'm trying to remove, I have tried removing service desk related issues/screens/fields/etc.,  but it's still showing up and I do not want to delete it yet if that won't actually remove it. What do I need to do to make sure this actually gets removed?

Other articles in Atlassian are saying to go into the Project Administration > Service Desk menu option to remove it from the Service Desk, but I have never found that option (I have admin rights and not finding anything regarding Service Desk in the "Project Settings").

You can hide the portal from external users via:

Thanks, I do already have the ones I don't want hidden, but I was hoping to remove them entirely from the Portal.

@Fudge  I just deleted a project on one of my prod instances and it disappeared from my help center.

Could I get you to raise a support ticket so they would be able to look into it more than I can at this time?

Thanks,

Radu

Hi Fudge,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
As per I could understand, you deleted a Service Desk project and there is still one SD project, is that correct?
If so, as long as a Service Desk project exists, the portal will be accessible, even if there is no request type for customers to create a ticket.
We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of the ability to disable the portal:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

Angélica

Hi @Angélica Luz ,

Thanks for a quick response! To clarify:

  • I unsuccessfully deleted 1 Project
(it still appears in the Service Desk despite not existing anymore - tickets sent to it end up being routed to a different Service Desk Project I have set up; it's very weird)
  • I have 2 more Projects I'd like to remove entirely from the Service Desk

I'm concerned about deleting the second 2 Projects since the first one didn't actually get removed from the Service Desk.

I don't think Removing the Portal is really what I'm looking for - I want to remove 1 project of multiple from the Portal.

The project is still appearing on the customer portal, but not on the project list internally, is that correct?

When you click on the project in the portal, does it show the request types to create tickets?

Is it visible to all customers and users this deleted project?
