Jira Database Tables

I am trying to understand the inner workings of Jira for a work project. I am trying to understand why some tables have an AO_ prefix and ther tables have a more meaningful name. For example Custom Fields refer to tables like customfield, customfieldoption, customfieldvalue and configurationconext then I come cross  AO_8542F1_IFJ_DCF_CONNECT that also contains Custom Field data. The AO_ table I understand to be related to Assets. Does anyone have any more information that could shed some light?

Hi @Dave Ellard
The tables without AO as a prefix are Jira default tables. Tables with AO_ are tables used by apps or Jira components (e.g. Service Management). Unfortunately, I can't tell you how up-to-date it is, but it will certainly help you to get an initial overview.
