Jira Reporting Capabilities

Bentsion Berg December 28, 2021

Does Jira Service Management or Jira Software have the ability to report on multiple projects at the same without using JQL filters or an add-on? Meaning to use the built-in reporting features and reports (graphs/charts/bars etc) that are siloed within each project?

Thanks!

hi @Bentsion Berg , I am not sure I understand the opposition to using JQL. JQL is simply a means of constructing a query of the data within your Jira instance. Graphs, charts and the like are always based on data and the data is derived from queries. In any event, there are number of gadgets that exist for the dashboard that don't require a JQL filter, at least not one that you need to construct. These are primarily when you select an entire project. However, for those gadgets you can't select multiple projects this is where you would turn to JQL such as - project in (abc, def, ghi, xyz)

Hi @Bentsion Berg

To visualize data across multiple projects in JSM/Jira out of the box we should use JQL Filters or have to rely on some add-ons. The built-in reports aren't available as of now to showcase data from multiple projects.
