Linking Jira to PowerBi

Sadie Armstrong October 18, 2019

I am trying to connect PowerBi and Jira.
The report function within Jira itself isnt fit for purpose.

Has someone done this and how did you do it?

We're specializing in creating apps for exporting Jira data to business intelligence platforms like:

Also we have a set of apps for exporting ecommerce data (Shopify, Magento) to BI platforms.

Hi,

AIO Power BI Connector for Jira app can be used to easily export Jira data into PowerBI and create the dashboards.

It is the #1 selling connector for Jira on the marketplace and is used by hundreds of organizations world wide, including several fortune 500 companies.

It is available for all the  three platforms Cloud/Server/Data Center.

If you would like us to provide some samples or have any questions, please feel free to email us at support@aioreports.com.

Which version of PowerBI (desktop or cloud), and which version of Jira (cloud or server) are you trying to connect because the techniques used, differ.

I am a statistics freak so I have done it before and desktop, desktop provided the best result, that result however was never good enough for me with both connectivity issues as well as handling/sharing which was rarely good enough.

Techniques i used was mainly to use the csv report to pull the data i required.

If you have the business case for it I would really recommend going with one of the better integrated solutions on marketplace: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?category=Reports&product=jira-service-desk

You are going to get much better reports, integrated in Jira, at a faster implementation time and if you allocate the cost for the time to setup the solution it is going to be cheaper as well.

There are many BI tools, some of them as plugins integrated in your instance directly. You can also integrate yourself or use third party tools to do it.

If you have already a BI tool, look for how to integrate it with Jira.
