Make menu CHOICE selections in JIRA Multilevel Structure from to be Required

roozadhami December 4, 2018

We use JIRA Service Desk 3.0.11, JIRA Core 7.0.4 and JIRA Software 7.0.4 software.  We have a menu selection choices which are given as a part of a Multilevel Structure form and the user will need to make a choice prior to submitting the form. Currently the user is able to submit the form without making any selections/choices. However, we want to force the user to select a given menu option therefore, we need to make the offered menu choices (of the Multilevel Structure Form) to be Required such that the user cannot submit the form with no choice selected. Thanks.

Hi Rooz,

Can you let me know if you're using a specific add-on to create your Multilevel Structure Form?

Regards,

Shannon

Hello Shannon,

Thanks for your reply. I am not that verse with JIRA Add-ons.  When navigate to Add-ons panel I see the Multi Level Structure under  .../marketplace/featured. along with the  following: Add-ons::

EXTENSION FOR JIRA SERVICE DESK
SUITE UTILITIES FOR JIRA
Option Synchronizations

Any how I believe that it would be better to be able to contact you on a phone number so we could chat more about this issue.  Please provide a Direct Support phone line so I can set up a time/schedule for a phone conversation on this matter.  That will be greatly appreciated.  Again thank you for replying to this support ticket/email.

Rooz,

Thank you for confirming. It looks like the add-on Extension for Jira Service Desk is providing this functionality in your instance.

I've tagged the question for the vendor and moved it to the Marketplace collection, so they will be able to follow-up with you.

I would also recommend that you reach out to the vendor via the Support tab on the above link.

Thank you,

Shannon

Hello Shannon,

Thanks for your feedback. But however, as your client (for several years) I have asked for a support phone number in order to discuss this issue directly with a support engineer but however as of now you have just stated that you tagged my ticket with the vendor (i.e. for  Extension for Jira Service Desk) and that I appreciate for it but yet I need to know who did you tagged my question at vendor for the add-on of the Extension for Jira Service Desk.  I would like a name and/or a direct support phone number so I could talk to them about this issues directly.  Please note that this question was posted on Dec 17, 2018 and that I really need to have an answer on this ticket/issue as I am also liable and have obligation to provide answer for it to our client who has been using the Atlassian JIRA product for some years.   Please escalate this issue as I expect a response within 24 Hours. Also, Happy 2019 New year!

Hello Shannon,

I have opened this support ticket on December 17, 2018, and that this is my second time requesting you to let me know what has happened since you had mentioned that ‘You tagged the question for the vendor’. As FYI I have also opened a ticket with the Vendor, I.E. Deviniti (i.e. SUPPORT-27559) but as of now I have not gotten any suggested solution/work-around for this issue/request. Could you please let me know about your findings and/or any contact person over at Deviniti that I might be able to connect with in order to get some answers?  Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Rooz Adhami

Rooz,

Apologies that I had not seen your previous reply. As Deviniti is a 3rd party vendor I am not able to escalate within their system. I'm sorry to hear they haven't reached out to you after you wrote them and they have not replied on this thread.

I checked their support tab as I recommended you have a look at earlier, but it appears they don't have listed a phone number there. I went directly to their vendor page, and it does appear they have a number there. I assume you have seen this already, but if you have not:

You can either email them at support@deviniti.com, or you can call them at +48 730 009 579.

When we tag vendors on Community posts related to their product, it is up to them to make sure the Community is staffed with their supporters. In the event they do not see your post or reply in a timely manner, I would always recommend reaching out via their public contact information on Marketplace.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Regards,

Shannon
