I try to create the report for the Asset I have and seems like it does not behave like what I expect or some limitation.
1. The data in Asset report are not daily updated. In Asset schema I have 2,400 objects while on report it is only shown 2,398 objects. I have checked on the different and the object created on 7-Mar and 11-Mar are missing in report.
Does it update the data one a week? On which day of a week?
2. Number of object shown are reduced drastically if there is more attribute selected. Below is when I have selected to show more 2 more attributes ( "Asset Owner" and "Serial number" ). The number of object shown are now dropping from 2,398 before to 1,283 objects. I will get 1,722 objects if I removed "Name" after that.
In this case the report cannot be used as it does not show objects or insufficient detail. I believed this is limit to the size of fetching allow. Is there any work around?
3. There is no number of quantities show on Bar chart which is difficult to read.
4. There is no stacked column. If I want to create a report which showing Total Number of Notebook, Number of In used, Number of In stock, then it is end up I have to create 3 separate reports to have them show each the chart.
5. Let's say now I want to create a chart report for all Hardware I have separate by Type for each column and have them stacked for status. What add-on can I try? Or that can only be achieve by manually export data and create in Power BI?
6. I have tried the Data Manager dashboard a bit which seems to be one of the best works around I have so far. But I believe the tool are not meant for the report purpose.
Any suggestion, idea, or add-on are welcome!
I was just starting to work with Asset reports this week, and they are honestly as close to useless as I can imagine in their current state. There are basically no options to configure and can only get bar charts.
Is it typical for features to be released that are basically completely useless to the customer?
Hi,
The eazyBI app for Jira allows the creation of custom reports from the Assets object schema. Here is a simple stacked bar chart showing the number of some object types per status:

Hi Janis,
Thanks. We are now looking at eazyBI as one of our possible solution. We will do some testing and see if our user can adopt the concept.

And as usual, it'll require a 3rd party app to get the functionality needed. Pretty pathetic on Atlassian's part.
