New customer, need password

b.skorstad June 20, 2019

Hello.

When we add a new user in our jira servicedesk they are sent an invite link and have to enter full name and a password.

But we have SSO enable so they shouldnt need a password.

Is there any way to change the invite form so there is now enter password?

Thanks for all the help.

Hi Bendik,

On Jira Service Desk the access for customers and agents are different.
The SSO only works for users with an Atlassian account, they are located on Administration > Users, also the login page for users are different from customers.
With that said, when adding a customer, they will be located on Administration > Jira Service Desk, it means that they don't have an Atlassian account and they won't be able to login using the SSO.
If you need customers to login with SSO, you will have to migrate one by one and remove their application access (so they won't count as a license). After that, they will be able to log in on xxxxxx.atlassian.net and they will be redirected to the portal.
Otherwise, they must go to the customer portal to create their password.

You can find more details on the documentation below:

Regards,
Angélica
