There are a couple columns which are not sortable in the queue. Anyone experience this and know what to do to fix?

please specify field type that are not sortable in your queue and verify that each of them has a search template defined.

short and long text fields not sortable. not sure what you mean by search template.

please check that custom fields have a searcher defined. As JIRA Admin go to Administration -> Issues -> Custom fields. Then search these fields (one per time) and edit details in order to check if it contains a searcher defined.
