Atlassian have recently announced that effective October 16, 2024 PT, advanced incident, problem, and change management features will only be available on Jira Service Management Cloud Premium and Enterprise plans.

One of the features moving to the Premium Plan is the Post Incident Review (PIR).

We are on the "Standard" Plan for Jira Service Management (JSM). We are already using a JSM Project for Incident Management and have been creating PIRs for all our incidents there.

Q1. What will happen to the existing PIRs we have created so far in our Incident Management related JSM Project on our site?

Q2. And does this mean that we will not be able to create any more PIRs for our incidents starting 16th October?

Q3. Does this mean that "[System] Post-incident review" issue type and its associated workflow will not be available on our JSM Project starting 16th Oct?

It will help if someone (especially from Atlassian side) can help clarify the above so that we can understand the impact on our existing JSM Project.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi @Anurag_Sharma

Q1. What will happen to the existing PIRs we have created so far in our Incident Management related JSM Project on our site?

The issue types are not removed from the site.  The issue data remains.  However the functionality of those PIRs would be lost.  You can still view those issue type in the "All queues" of the project.  Those PIR category will be disabled on any request types that it is applied to.  These request types will move into the unassigned category.

Q2. And does this mean that we will not be able to create any more PIRs for our incidents starting 16th October?

Yes, in a Free or Standard JSM plan, that is what it means.

Q3. Does this mean that "[System] Post-incident review" issue type and its associated workflow will not be available on our JSM Project starting 16th Oct?

The issue type will continue to exist.  No issue data is deleted.  But you won't be able to create new PIRs or use the function of PIRs in JSM.

I hope this helps to explain the upcoming change.

Hi @Anurag_Sharma welcome to the Atlassian Community!

What is the URL of the source of this announcement? Because I cannot find anything related to these change in the current documentation.

I'm only aware of the New AIOps capabilities: Alert grouping & PIR creation (not in beta)
